Note on How Infrastructure Works via Deb Chachra
The engineers that spec out the heating and cooling systems for buildings (known as HVAC, for “heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning”) use the term “design days” for the hottest or coldest days of the year, the days that demand the most of building systems, and they are usually design days for the underlying infrastructural utilities, too.
