You think we're going to fight viral zombies, and we will, but we'll also fight toxic masculinity.
Such and early-2000s movie: high contrast (in visuals and characters), patient pacing at the start, tons of cuts in action sequences, practical effects
I want to rewatch this and tally up the number of Dutch angles (I'd guess: 20% of shots) and "scenes filmed through a screen/barrier" (e.g. a window, a screen) (I'd guess: 20 scenes). The photography was so consistently using those two devices that it felt like a constant signature.
Thanks to my friend Ned: we hauled out his old 30" CRT screen TV (all 163lbs of it) and Playstation 3 to watch the DVD and it felt gloriously like watching it in someones basement in the 2000s.
