Everyone practices going faster until they get hurt. Fewer people practice getting hurt well: noticing the warning signs, stopping early, healing deliberately, rebuilding slowly, and returning without making the injury part of their identity.
Everyone gets injured eventually. Recovery is not an interruption of performance, it is a fundamental part of the exercise.
